On behalf of the Student Confederation, I would like to welcome everyone back for what will hopefully be a great Spring Semester. Since last spring this SC administration has worked hard every day to make the lives of students better. At the end of the summer the SC composed a Strategic Vision which has served as a strong policy tool in working with the administration through these Campus Conversations, and communicating a message of student needs to the Senate and also the Board. In this Strategic Vision, we also outlined our Customer Service Initiative, which we are still working on. We have made a commitment toward addressing problems and issues that students face, and looking for possible solutions. This Customer Service Initiative is now a part of the Student Advocacy Center, both teams will be working hand in hand, in not only addressing long term ways to solve problems, but also how we can help every student who needs help. We have done our best to address the services here at AU in every possible area. We have brought it up at Board of Trustees meetings, University Senate meetings, and also in meetings with members of the Administration. We truly believe that no student should have to go to five different offices for help, and should be able to get immediate answers. We have also worked hard this year to expand our role off campus. A very close and successful relationship has grown in the past few months between the SC and area schools. We have made it one of our goals to address how students who live off campus are treated. This new alliance is bringing all of the students in the D.C. area closer together to help fight our common battles. There are many other issues that-we have and continue to work toward this semester. We are still trying to combine Eagle Bucks and Plus Points, we will finally be getting our own University Center on the second floor, we have two new food services in the tunnel, and we are serving actively on the University Senate. Homecoming and our Spring Fling will also be taking place this semester as well as many other concerts and speakers. We truly hope that all students come out for these events and that you share any concerns or issues that you may have. I can be reached at x6423 or by email at president@studentconfederation.org, or you could come by my office in Anderson Terrace room T-26. Thank you and we look forward to a great year.
