Three Second Kiss and Taking Pictures The Black Cat's backstage at 9 p.m., $5 The Black Cat is one of D.C.'s smaller concert venues and usually plays host to more eclectic and independent music acts. 2. "Hell's Highway: The True Story of Highway Safety Films" Independent Visions Cinema Bistro Lounge at 9:30 p.m., $6 with student ID. Visions is one of D.C.'s independent movie houses, which screens films that are hard to find at any other theater. "Hell's Highway" is a documentary about highway safety films shown in driver's education classes; critics have given it good reviews. Other movies are also playing. Visions boasts a bar and restaurant (you can take beer into the movie with you) and is located at 1927 Florida Ave., near the Dupont Circle Metro stop. 3. "Spank Me" Club MCCXXIII, $10 cover charge MCCXXIII (1223) is one of the swankier clubs in the area and has a decently strict dress code. It's 18 to enter and 21 to drink on Tuesday "Spank Me" nights. Hip hop, dance, house and trance play at the club from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The club is located at 1223 Connecticut Ave., near the Dupont Circle Metro stop. 4. Pool Babe's Billiards, $7 per person per hour after 6 p.m. Babe's Billiards is a popular hang out among AU students and boasts 19 full-size pool tables and 10 pinball machines, as well as foosball tables and darts, not to mention a well stocked bar. 5. The monuments The National Mall, free. The D.C. experience is not complete until you have walked from the Lincoln Memorial to the FDR Memorial and around the Tidal Basin to the Jefferson Monument and the Washington Monument. Go at night for a better experience and wear sneakers if you plan to walk the whole way. The Lincoln Memorial is most easily reached from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop.
6. "Takeover Tuesdays" Club Daedelus, $5 cover charge, women enter free before 7:30 p.m. Daedalus, a 21-and-over dance club that plays jazz, neosoul, R&B, and hip hop on Tuesday nights. 7. ESPN Zone Free admission, about $7 per beer. The ESPN Zone, which is, of course, all about sports, features 230 televisions, including a 16-foot screen and a floor of interactive games. 9. Bowling The Hippodrome, $4.50 per game after 5 p.m. and $2 to rent shoes The Hippodrome, the only bowling alley in the District besides the one in the White House, is located on George Washington University's campus. The bowling alley features 12 lanes and stays open until midnight. The Hippodrome is located on the Fifth Floor of GW's Marvin Center at 2100 H St. and can be accessed by the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. 10. The Tombs $5.50 for burgers, average $6 for pitcher of Bush. The Tombs is a basement restaurant and bar, with a separate smoking section, usually frequented by Georgetown students. The restaurant is very popular, sometimes featuring live music and it stays open until 2 a.m. The Tombs is located at 1226 36th St. and can be easily accessed by the 30 Metrobus line that serves Wisconsin Avenue.
