Sprinkler box causes fire alarm on South side, students caught in elevator
Public Safety responded to a fire alarm early Thursday morning and a stuck elevator early Sunday morning in the South side residence halls.
The fire alarm was caused by a malfunctioning sprinkler box hanging loose in the first floor stairwell of Anderson Hall, a Public Safety official said.
Physical plant has since fixed the problem.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Public Safety and DCFD responded to a call of two students trapped in an elevator.
A malfunction in the Centennial Hall freight elevator caused the two students to be stranded between floors for 10 minutes.
