AU's School of International Service will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of its International Communication Studies program on Oct. 17 with a Global Symposium on International Communication.
"The Symposium commemorates not only the founding of the program but also of the field of international communication studies pioneered by the oldest and most extensive program of its kind internationally," according to a statement from the International Communication Division of SIS.
Speakers for the event include Professor Gertrude Robinson of McGill University in Montreal and Professor Naren Chitty of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. They will discuss the re-regulation of communications policies in the United States and Canada, the future directions in international communications research and the impact of global communications on the emerging international order, according to the statement.
Program alumni are invited to participate. The event is open to the public.
