Course evaluations will be available through the my.american Web portal in time for Fall 2004 registration, according to Student Confederation President Nick Terzulli.
E-operations will be working with the SC and faculty to create a template for the system over Winter Break, Terzulli said. The system will be available to all students by next spring as they prepare to register for the summer and next fall sessions, Terzulli said.
Terzulli said by posting the evaluations on the secure section of my.american, "it is open to members of the AU community, but not to everyone."
Registration for the Summer 2004 sessions and Fall 2004 semester begins March 29, according to the AU Office of the Registrar.
The Faculty Senate approved the posting of evaluations online in a unanimous decision Oct. 8. The evaluations are regularly used by the administration to determine tenure for professors and the effectiveness of courses.
The evaluations were previously available through the library for any student who wished to browse them, according to Anthony DeAngelo, director of Academic Affairs for the SC.
DeAngelo has worked with Terzulli to post these evaluations online as part of the SC Strategic Plan.
