David Kay, former U.N. chief weapons inspector in Iraq and special adviser to the director of the CIA, will speak at AU on April 22 at 8:15 p.m. in the amphitheater. The rain location will be at the same time in Ward 1.
According to Nicholas Thorpe, deputy director of the Kennedy Political Union, Kay will speak about the weapons of mass destruction question in Iraq, since it gives topical insight to his weapons inspection job. "We feel that this speaker will bring debate and discussion about the war in Iraq," Thorpe said.
Kay is expected to comment on his role in weapons inspection as well as President Bush's handling of the war in Iraq and the 9/11 Commission. The event is part of the annual Artemas Ward Festival sponsored by the Student Confederation, AU's student government. For more information about the festival, visit www.studentconfederation.org
