"PandaMania" will be hitting the District in May and will remain until September.
There will be 150 Pandas placed throughout the city. One of the 6-foot tall fiberglass statues will be placed at the Tenleytown-AU Metro stop.
PandaMania is a project of the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. The commission also created the series of colorful donkey and elephant statues called "Party Animals" two years ago.
Professional artists designed most of the statues, but school groups and youth art groups designed a few too.
The statues' will be unveiled on May 10. They will be auctioned in September to raise money for art grants and education programs.
