Tennis looks good in off-season play at Virginia Beach

The AU Men's Tennis team wrapped up a successful showing at this past weekend's Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational, as all three singles players won their division.

Sophomores Andrew Singer and Jason Harris and freshman Mark Doumba were victorious in the Virginia Beach tournament. The doubles team of senior Juan Jaysingh and junior Nicolas Frayssinoux advanced to the finals, but lost, 8-2.

Singer won the Flight B Singles competition, defeating Carlos Campo 7-5, 6-1 in the finals, while Harris won the Flight C Singles with a three-set victory over Ryan Mills in the semifinals and a default by Nick Owen in the finals.

Singer and Harris completed the sweep by winning their doubles' bracket, with an 8-5 victory in the finals.

Next up for AU is this weekend's D.C. Metro Tournament, which the Eagles will co-host with Georgetown University.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
