Sports Brief: Eagles lose in heartbreaking double overtime match against Bucknell, in second straigh

The AU Women's Soccer team lost its second straight game for the first time this year after a 3-2 heartbreaking loss to Bucknell Universityon Saturday at Reeves Field.

Bucknell's Krista Lee Gentile notched the game-winner with less than five minutes left in the second overtime.

The first half started slowly, as the Bisons and Eagles played to a scoreless tie. After the intermission, the game picked up as Bucknell buried the first goal and AU evened it in the 57th minute on a goal by Marcela Ricupero.

Bucknell went back up, 2-1, when Jennifer Margolis got her second goal of the game. Ricupero then found the right side of the net off a rebound and evened the game once again.

In overtime, the Eagles had chances but came away without a goal, and the Bisons ended the game when Gentile was able to capitalize on a breakaway in the second overtime.

The Eagles finish up the PL regular season next weekend when they take on Army in West Point, N.Y.
