All thumbs

Thumbs Up

Election Day ... After months of anticipation, it's finally here. We hope it will occur without riots or legal messes. We're all ready for the political storms will clear.

Marine Marathon ... On Sunday the Marine Corps Marathon ran though the city, to the delight of D.C. runners. In a city that often seems to have no sports identity, it's nice to have an athletic event for Washingtonians to participate in and cheer for.

Halloween ... It's one night (or weekend, this year) when students can wear basically whatever they want in public and sometimes get candy for doing it.

Thumbs Down

Sign Wars ... Shame on those Bush and Kerry supporters who have been pulling down each other's signs.

Women professors less likely to get tenure ... Only 27 percent of all full-time professors in America are women. This needs to change to accurately reflect gender equality.

Traffic problems brought on by the Marine Marathon ... Streets around the city were gridlocked, and the Metro was backed up on all lines. The city should have planned around the event better.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
