Thumbs Up

Great American Smokeout ... Today AU will take part in the Great American Smokeout, a nationwide effort to help break cigarette addiction. With smoking so prevalent on campus, it's great to see AU and the nation attempting to break nicotine's hold on America.

AU alumna helps terror victims ... AU alum Zahara Heckscher's support group for the families of terrorism victims is just another example of the great humanitarian spirit that AU fosters.

'Half-Life 2' released ... On the heels of the releases of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" and "Halo 2" comes another installment in another popular video game series. Though these games will inevitably cause a drop in hours logged studying, they will provide great enjoyment for many across campus. It's a great time to be a video game fan right now.

Thumbs Down

EagleBuck$ problems on campus ... For much of Wednesday, EagleBuck$ and credit card scanners were down, causing much consternation at the various eateries around campus. This kind of problem is usually avoidable with better technical planning. This has not been the first time AU has been faced with these problems, but hopefully it's worked out for the semester, at least.

Phone scam ... A scammer has been calling phone numbers of organizations across campus, attempting to get organizations to pay for print catridges they didn't order. Beware!

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
