The Hit List

1. Blowoff Bob Mould (formally of Husker Du and Sugar) and Richard Morel (of Morel, whose album was recently released) have something for you to be thankful for on Thursday night: the debut live performance of Blowoff, their DJ night, at the 9:30 club. The pair will spin in the main room, and the 21-and-over party will begin at 10 p.m. and last until 3 a.m. Tickets are $10. For more information visit www.blowoff.us.

2. 'Kinsey' After gorging yourselves on Turkey Day, take the family to the cineplex for an apertif in the form of Bill Condon's deft, humorous biopic starring Liam Neeson as the controversial sex researcher. Dessert comes with Lynn Redgrave's brief, moving cameo as a woman whose life is saved by Kinsey's work.

3. Dippin' Dots They say it's the ice cream of the future, but it's here already, isn't it? The small "balled" ice cream alternative has been spotted at Tyson's Corner, Montgomery Mall and Pentagon City. Goes great with cranberry sauce too. And, if you want Dippin' Dots to deliver to your house, just visit www.dippindots.com.

4. Tryptophan It's that glorious enzyme in turkey meat that makes you fall into a deep slumber rather than help clean up after dinner. If you have enough of it (and chase it with glassfuls of red wine), you won't even be able to make it off the table by the end of the meal, and you'll wind up passed out under the dining room table drooling gravy. (Like we do. Every year. Zzzzzzz - snort - zzzzzz.)

5. 'Half-Life 2' The sequel to the multimillion-selling computer-game phenomenon has arrived, and all eight of us who actually like computer games and have computers powerful enough to run them are jumping for joy. Astounding graphics, stunningly realistic physics, intense battle sequences - this game's got it all, and it's anime-free too!
