Memorial to be held for student

James Kyle Parker

Born Oct. 21, 1983 Died Nov. 18, 2004

AU junior James K. (Kyle) Parker, 21, died in his sleep on Nov. 18, friends say.

Parker, a psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences, was found unconscious in his apartment and transferred to a medical examiner before he died. He died of unknown causes, according to University Chaplain Joe Eldridge. Parker's case was assigned for investigation to the natural causes detective squad, The Eagle previously reported.

"He was well-read, the guy you go to talk to," said friend and former roommate Chris Jun, also an AU student. "From relationships to sociology, he was always knowledgeable and supportive."

Beverly Casinelli, another close friend to Parker, described him as her "personal therapist" who enjoyed spending time with his friends.

A family service will be held this Saturday in Parker's hometown of Philadelphia.

A memorial service for AU students will be held on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. in Kay Spiritual Life Center.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
