BEST SHOW 'Arrested Development'
With simply the best writing on any television show since "Seinfeld" and "The Simpsons" in their heydays, "Arrested Development" deserved the Emmy and all the buzz it's getting. Watch it.
WORST SHOW 'Saturday Night Live'
The show that once defined a generation is dead. Where we once watched Jane Curtain debate Dan Akroyd on Point/Counterpoint, Chevy Chase tumble down the stairs as Gerald Ford, Gilda Radner play Baba Wawa and John Belushi serve deli meat with a samurai sword, we now see Will Forte trying desperately to impersonate President Bush, Fred Armisen and Horatio Sanz eliciting groans with their Telemundo drudgery and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler quickly running "Weekend Update" back into the ground.
BEST DVD 'The Office: The Complete Series'
The entire series of the unfathomably brilliant British comedy show saw its release on DVD this year and is one the best shows in the history of television. Filmed in documentary style, "The Office" can be simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking.
MOST UNDERRATED SHOW 'Home Movies'
The hilarious Adult Swim show about the lives of three eight-year-olds and an alcoholic soccer coach ended one of its best seasons this year, only to be cancelled by Cartoon Network. Thankfully, the show is being released on DVD: Season One came out in November and Season Two will be released in 2005.
BEST ENSEMBLE The cast of 'Reno 911!'
Watch Comedy Central's "Reno 911!" and see comic professionals at their best. Best moment: Officers Garcia and Wiegel are assigned to bodyguard Kenny Rogers - the real Kenny Rogers - and Wiegel dresses up as the country singer's decoy.
