All Thumbs

Thumbs Up

Former Mexican ambassador to the UN at AU ... Although his speech seemed to be an infomercial for Mexico, Adolfo Aguilar Zinser's presence on campus highlights AU's strength as an international hub.

BET comedian at AU ... BET comedian Sean Sarvis performed at AU Monday in honor of Valentine's Day and Black History Month.

Learning Enterprises to send students abroad ... Learning Enterprises, a program that sends college students abroad to teach English in rural villages, will include AU students going to Panama this summer. That AU was chosen to partake in this prestigious program is a testament to AU's standing as a community- and global-service university.

Thumbs Down

The perils of living on the South Side of campus ... You have to wait all day for package hours in order to get that box of goodies your mom sent you for Valentine's Day, and when you finally get it you have to haul it up four flights of stairs because the elevators are out.

NHL cancels season ... In what could be the final straw for hockey in the United States, the NHL has lost the entire 2004-2005 season to a labor dispute. It's a shame that a battle between millionaires and billionaires has deprived hockey fans of their sport.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
