Amy Klinger withdrew her candidacy for Student Government comptroller in an announcement Monday, citing an internship that would compromise her ability to serve.
"I have been given the opportunity to pursue an internship that is of great significance to my future career goals, and thus would not have been able to devote myself fully to fulfilling the responsibilities of this executive position should I have been given then chance," said Klinger, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences and Kogod School of Business.
She wished both remaining candidates for comptroller, Ali Khan and Zach Ulrich good luck, endorsing neither.
Klinger is the second to withdraw candidacy in the executive race. Former vice presidential candidate Jordan Landry withdrew last week. He endorsed vice presidential candidate Leah Kreimer.
