The AU Women's Club Ice Hockey team fell to the University of Virginia's club team, 2-1, Saturday.
Captain Sarah O'Hara, an AU graduate student, scored the first and only goal for the Eagles. O'Hara scored her 11th goal of the season after a breakaway opened up a shot for her in the first period.
AU's lead stood until the second period, when Virginia's Katherine Hunter scored with an unassisted shot against AU goalie Rebekah Mitter. Hunter scored again in the third period to put Virginia ahead, 2-1.
AU was unable to come back in the third period, dropping to 4-5 on the season. The Eagles will hit the ice tonight at the Rockville Blades complex in Rockville, Md., at 6 p.m. against the Montgomery Gold team.
