More than 200 students gathered in the Tavern to watch Super Bowl XXXIX on a giant projector screen while eating free pizza and wings provided by the Residence Hall Association and The Gathering.
However, after all the requisite excitement, some students expressed dissatisfaction.
"The half time show was a little bit too conservative this year," Eagles fan and RHA President Scott Goldstein said.
Other students agreed.
"It was the most boring Super Bowl game ever," said Melissa Darr, a student in the School of Public Affairs who rooted for neither team. "The game sucked, the commercials sucked, the half-time sucked."
With each 30-second commercial costing an average of $2.4 million, according to The New York Times, some students say companies shouldn't have wasted their money.
"The commercials sucked. They weren't funny, it's annoying enough to watch these damn commercials, they're supposed to at least make me laugh," said Eagles fan Nick Glass as he watched the game at the Delta Tau Delta party in the game room.
However, there were parts of the event that some enjoyed.
"I liked it, I think the World War II tribute was well deserved," Eagles fan Kevin Maguire said as he watched the game at a floor party.
As the game came to an end there were less than 100 students left in the Tavern.
The game ended in a Patriot win, 24-21.
"They're a dynasty," said SPA student Michael Palaia. "I wish Massachusetts would burn in hell"
