The Hit List

Five things worthy of your time

1. "COPS" Everything about this show is good, from its theme song to the addict who claims he hasn't done crack since his birthday (which happened to be two days ago). One of the pioneering reality TV shows, "COPS" has been on the air for 17 years. The show is so popular that it has spawned many DVD special editions and has shown "bad boys" what happens "when they come for you."

2. Agua Ardiente Ultra swanky, uber-hip, yet surprisingly, not expensive, Agua Ardiente is a 'noveau Latino' restaurant on 24th Street between M and N. Its luxurious decor will make you worry that you won't have the money to cover the bill, but the food will convince you that even washing dishes can't be that bad. However, there's no need to worry: the food only tastes yuppie price-worthy. Mere college students can enjoy the Latin cuisine without having to sell their iPods on ebay.

3. Bud Dry To continue on with trashy trends, Budweiser's 1980s creation, Bud Dry, continues to satisfy customers with its refreshing taste. Unfortunately the closest place that Bud Dry has been discovered to D.C. is at a Food Lion in Richmond, Va. Why is this beer so good? We'll let the beer's slogan answer that: "Why ask why? Try Bud Dry!"

4. Jigsaw Puzzles Formerly thought of as an activity only suited for elderly people in nursing homes, jigsaw puzzles are suddenly becoming cool. Plus, studies say that doing jigsaw puzzles makes people smarter. At first it may be hard to admit that instead of going bar hopping on Friday night you're staying in to complete a puzzle, but soon the phrase will become second nature.

5. Gummi octopi from Eagle's Nest Sort of like the Holy Grail, certain Scene staff members can be found perched in front of the candy cart in The 'Nest, frantically picking out the blue and pink octopi from their inferior red and orange counterparts. What their actual flavoring is remains a mystery, yet the addictive nature of biting off the legs first is oh so satisfying.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
