Their words: Kyle Taylor, SC President

My name is Kyle Taylor and I'm running for SC president. My time as Eagle Nights director and SC vice president has inspired me to pursue this position and given me the skills I need to reach out to you, the students, and program effectively to develop policies that are important to you. I'll do this by involving you in the process.

Every candidate addresses the problems - the library, shuttle safety, book buyback prices, food quality and phone service in the dorms. We all talk about change, but it takes more than talk. I have real solutions. I'm ready to engage you in making change. I want the new SC outreach chair to oversee a diverse committee of students representing various campus populations so they can communicate and coordinate with the SC not just about their events, but about finances as well.

I also plan to create a student voice commissioner who will invite every student to give input on what bands and speakers the Student Union Board and the Kennedy Political Union bring to campus. This will give you the opportunity to play an active role in deciding where your money is spent. I will also improve our campus community: I want to provide more late-night programming such as movie screenings on campus at the same time they're opening in theaters.

To increase school spirit, I want sporting event after-parties in the Tavern. Let's make 24-hour library services during finals ... final. I'll start a "Lunch with Ladner" program because I believe students need to have a real conversation with our University president. I want to work toward student rates on the Metro as well as Metro ticket sales in the bookstore. We need to work together; we need real solutions and I have them. Don't vote for the candidate who raises the biggest problems. Vote for the candidate with the best solutions. I am that candidate.
