Thumbs Up

Student Advocacy Pamphlet ... This week, SAC released a pamphlet titled "Before you do something Stupid Read this Guide" that explains what rights students and campus residents have. This is a great and useful idea by the Student Advocacy Center.

Zipcar adds Mazda 3 to collection ... Mazda's 3 is one of the hottest new sports cars, and the fact that Zipcar acquired them shows that the company isn't just going to stick you with a Rent-A-Wreck. You can travel in style, even if you're paying by the hour.

Alternative Spring Break ... It's great to see so many AU students volunteering to spend their break helping out the needy. It highlights AU's status as one of the premiere community-service universities. Alternative Spring Break is proof that giving can be fun (and can get you a sweet tan too).

Body Image tour comes to AU ... This informational event sheds light on plastic surgery, eating disorders and body image, which are definitely relevant issues to college students.

Thumbs Down

AU not closing the school Monday ... We can understand not closing down on Monday morning. Even though other universities had already closed, there was no snow on the ground as we awoke. However, by evening time the snow was coming down heavily, and the roads were in very dangerous condition. Without doubt AU should have shut down university operations from 5:30 p.m. on.

Ramps being left snowy and icy ... AU Public Safety was vigilant in clearing walkways and staircases for students to get around campus, but neglected building entrance ramps, leaving wheelchair-bound students to fend for themselves.

The powers-that-be storing chemical weapons below our field 80 years ago ... Thanks to them, AU now has to struggle for Army Corps attention and funding just to make the campus safe.

AU alumni not winning an Oscar for Best Short Documentary ... While the next Scorsese may or may not be at AU as we speak, it's disappointing that AU alumni didn't win for "Autism is a World"

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
