Thumbs Up

Pi Kappa Phi gets chartered ... Congratulations to the Pi Kaps, who persevered through a difficult situation and poured their hearts into getting the charter.

McDowell Luau ... McDowell Hall is putting on a party Monday for residents to celebrate the end of the semester. It's always good to have relaxed social events in the midst of exam season, to help everyone chill out a bit.

New ATMs in Anderson and McDowell halls ... Seemingly out of the blue, students now have an easy option to get cash on their way off campus, without having to walk to Mary Graydon or stop in Tenleytown before getting onto the Metro.

Express checkout from dorm rooms ... A new option this year will allow students to check out of their rooms and leave immediately, without having to wait to be RIF'ed out. Considering the different types of schedules kept by everyone on campus, more options are always a good thing.

It's almost summer ... Keep your heads up. The finishing line is within sight.

Thumbs Down

Final exam time ... At least when exams come in December, there's nothing better to do than stay inside studying. Right now, you have to supress the urge to blow off your tests and go outside.

Craigslist creepiness ... Earlier this week, some former AU professor posted on Craigslist.org trying to track down one of his former students for a hook-up. Can you say sketchy? If U.S. News & World Report somehow finds out about this, our national ranking is sure to plummet.

Poor selection quality for box lunches at the Marketplace ... What about those of us who don't feel like turkey sandwiches again? How about a salad, or just about anything else?

The sudden downturn in weather ... On the plus side, at least when it's wet and miserable out, there's less urge to ignore your homework and play on the Quad.

The Eagle's final issue of the semester ... We know you will miss us. We will miss you too. Check back next semester for more Eagle fun, and have a great summer!
