The hit list

1. www.43things.com

This collective Internet oasis allows users to create a list of 43 goals, wishes, hopes or desires, and displays them in list form on its homepage using tags much like those utilized on flickr.com. Registering with a valid email address lets one manage his or her list by prioritizing set goals, crossing off accomplished ones or perusing other users with similar aspirations. A stellar timewaster in the spirit of... well, any other website ever created.

2. "Cool As Ice" (1991)

In the great Venn diagram of life, there's a circle for people who like Vanilla Ice, and a circle for people looking for something other than "Walker, Texas Ranger" reruns to watch while downing malt liquor at somebody's apartment on Friday nights. Where these two converge is "Cool As Ice," Vanilla's first starring role in a motion picture. Basically, he drives his sweet Ninja motorcycle around wearing a leather jacket with words like "DEEP" and "sex" painted on it, trying to win the heart of the bookish, girl-next-door heroine. Disregard that the tagline- "When a girl has a heart of stone, there's only one way to melt it: Just add Ice"- doesn't actually make sense. Get ready for plenty of dance numbers, several colorful pairs of pants and an amazing courtship scene on a construction site.

3. www.littleradio.com

Solid, free and dependable Internet radio stations can be hard to find, so bookmarking this one might not be a bad idea. Littleradio's streaming mix of eclectic, offbeat tunes is just the thing to get a weary soul through either a day at work or a night at the library. An hour of listening yielded tracks from Muse, Elliott Smith, David Bowie, Cibo Matto, The Starlight Mints, Wilco and Enon, among others, and the posted play list lets surfers access the discography or iTunes profile of any featured artist. The best part? Not a single commercial interruption.

4. Putting out press releases when you decide you hate someone

Paris Hilton's done it once again. In a recently released official statement, Hilton said she is through with "Simple Life" co-star Nicole Richie: "It's no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that's all I'm ever going to say." Although Fox TV has declined to comment, Hilton announced Kimberly Stewart (daughter of rocker Rod Stewart) is now her new best friend and co-star. Richie, not to be outdone by an unwitting porn starlet, is reportedly getting her own reality show, based on her upcoming wedding with DJ fianc? Adam Goldstein. And, really, we can't wait.

5. Noel Gallagher tells 'Truth' in two-hour interview

In honor of Oasis's official website's 10th anniversary, Oasisinet.com recently webcast a two-hour live video interview with the band's lead guitarist, Noel Gallagher. Gallagher answered fans' questions, previewed the upcoming tour and album "Don't Believe the Truth," identified which new bands are "the bollix" (Razorlight, Kasabian) and which are "rubbish" (The Bravery). Gallagher also devoted a good portion of the interview to making fun of his brother Liam, who he recently described to the NME as "a woman who's on a f***ing permanent menstrual cycle all the time about everything." The video interview is now available in its entirety to distract AU Oasis fans from studying at http://www.oasisinet.com.
