Police blotter: The Best of the Worst of the Summer

May 11

A student who was barred from having contact with a priest on campus violated that order by contacting the priest via text message. The student was barred from all AU property.

May 19

A shuttle driver reported that two individuals were consuming alcohol aboard his shuttle bus. Public safety made contact with the individuals, and one barring notice was issued.

May 31

A shuttle driver reported that another shuttle driver at the Tenleytown Metro stop had threatened him. Both drivers were interviewed, and a report was filed.

June 20

An Anderson Hall Desk Receptionist informed Public Safety that there was a naked man wandering the halls and riding the elevators. Public Safety arrived on the scene shortly thereafter, and left the nude man "in the hands of the Resident Director."

June 27

A parent reported that she had not heard from her daughter in over one hour, since asking her daughter to move their car from Clark Lot to the Main Quad. Public Safety began a canvass of all University property, and, not finding the missing woman, contacted the Metro Police Department. MPD issued broadcasts for the missing woman, as well as the vehicle. Furthermore, MPD contacted the Secret Service. Public Safety, MPD, and the Secret Service continued to canvass the area with little success. The family was transported to a hotel for the evening and officers cleared the scene. The woman was later found on campus.

July 28

A National Student Leadership Conference student staying in McDowell Hall reported that his roommate had attempted suicide, using an unknown method. The student was transported to Sibley Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

July 31

An unknown individual was exposing himself in the Sports Complex during a basketball game. Public Safety made contact with the man, escorted him off campus, and barred him from University property.
