The hit list

1. The Cat Empire

This funk-soul-hip-hop sextet channels every ounce of funkiness their hometown of Melbourne, Austrialia has to offer. Their single "Hello" is a fast talking horn-driven hip-shaker. Catch them this Thursday at the 9:30 Club.

2. Wallace and Gromit DVD

Animated man and dog duo Wallace and Gromit will star in their first feature film "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" this Friday, but Brit-claymation fans can now catch their first three short adventures on DVD for $15. The set includes the Oscar-winning "The Wrong Trousers" and "A Close Shave," as well as their first exploit "A Grand Day Out" and a bunch of mini-episodes called "Cracking Contraptions."

3. Chicken Tenders at the Tavern

Old news, sure, but they're just so good! Almost too good to be true! In a world where Chick Fil-A no longer accepts meal plan blocks, what better way is there to get one's chicken fix than these delicious, deep-fried nuggets of joy?

4. Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalogue

Every year, this hoity-toity department store releases its Christmas catalogue, and every year it features new ridiculous gifts for money hemmoragers. This year? A private concert by Sir Elton John, for a cool $1.5 million (which benefits the Elton John AIDS Foundation). Also: Custom-built treehouses starting at $50,000.00.

5. Your Roommate

"Dude, you're on the Hit List!" "No, dude. You're on the Hit List." "No dude, that's totally you." "No, man. Dude."
