Police blotter

Thursday, Dec. 1

A student reported a woman was unconscious in the 4th floor Capital Hall women's restroom. Officers responded, but the woman refused medical treatment.

An individual was yelling into a public phone in the Ward Circle Building, disturbing people in the area. The individual was asked to keep his voice down, and a report was filed.

The disability sign on the front entrance of the Bender Library mysteriously disappeared. Theft is strongly suspected.

A student reported that her wallet was stolen out of her backpack in Bender Arena and that fraudulent charges were made to her credit card.

A car was booted in the Nebraska Lot for displaying a fraudulent parking permit.

Friday, Dec. 2

A student in Letts Hall was having an adverse reaction to prescribed medication. Officers responded, but the student refused medical treatment.

Officers discovered that a car parked in the Nebraska Lot was displaying the parking permit of a prospective student, but that the vehicle actually belonged to a current student. The car was booted for displaying a fraudulent parking permit.

At approximately the same time, another car was booted in a different part of the Nebraska Lot for the same offense.

A student reported that her vehicle was damaged while parked in the Nebraska Lot.

A student in Anderson Hall reported that fraudulent charges had been made to his Eagle Bucks account.

Saturday, Dec. 3

An officer on patrol discovered a book burning outside of Capital Hall. An extinguisher was retrieved and the flame was put out. It is clear that the book was set ablaze intentionally.

Two students were observed drinking beer in the Letts-Anderson Quad. Public Safety officers requested identification to verify that the students were of legal drinking age. The students refused to show this identification, and fled off campus.

A Public Safety officer was injured within the Public Safety building, and required transport to Sibley Hospital.

A vehicle was parked at the north end of the Letts-Anderson Quad, where no parking is permitted. The vehicle was issued a traffic citation.

Sunday, Dec. 4

One student became stuck in an elevator in Letts Hall. The D.C. Fire Department was contacted, and she was freed unharmed.

A student was injured while playing basketball in the Sports Center Arena and was transported to Sibley Hospital.

An RA reported graffiti in Anderson and Centennial Halls. Officers arrived and took photographs of the graffiti. A report was filed.

A student who resides at Park Bethesda contacted Public Safety and reported that his roommate was missing. Local hospitals and police departments were contacted, but none knew the whereabouts of the missing person. Later, the student contacted Public Safety again, informing them that his missing roommate had been located. Public Safety spoke to the formerly missing student and verified his safety.

A concerned parent contacted Public Safety and requested that an officer check on her daughter's well-being. An officer and the student's RA located the student, who assured them that she was fine. The RA and Public Safety cleared the scene, but not before informing the woman of resources available to her if she should need them.
