The hit list

Five things worthy of your time

1. Haircuts

More people need haircuts and that's the honest truth. If you are sporting ANYTHING that even RESEMBLES a rattail or mullet, more power to you, but at this point it's just not a statement of individuality at all. Please ask that girl or guy down the hall with the clippers to chop that stuff off for you and then you can come to the next party.

2. Celebrity nudity

There's nothing like watching a hit movie and suddenly coming across some intense celebrity nudity. It truly makes the seemingly hapless feature flick into a truly memorable experience. It's also especially entertaining when Tivo records a movie and you can cue it up for regaling guests. Notable examples: Ewan MacGregor in "Young Adam," Harvey Keitel in "The Piano" and Diane Keaton in "Something's Gotta Give." Consider this your gift from The Eagle.

3. Henry Rollins

First off, kudos to SUB for getting this. Henry Rollins, former front man of venerable punk band Black Flag (and various other bands), will be at AU on Feb. 11 performing spoken word. Despite the intense surreal factor the evening will prove to have, seeing Rollins opine on the state of the nation and anything he damn well wants to opine on will be priceless. Hopefully there will be enough people in the Tavern to distract from the irony of Rollins yelling across from a Chick Fil-A and Jamba Juice.

4. Chris Penn

Brother of Sean Penn, but great in his own right, Chris Penn died last week in Santa Monica. Famous for his role of the dance-challenged Willard in "Footloose," where he made out with Sarah Jessica Parker, rode a dirt bike and fought those opposed to a senior dance. He also starred in Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs." Rent either one and enjoy the wonders of Chris Penn posthumously.

5. Removing Tags from Facebook Photos

Listen, rumor has it that potential employers are using Facebook to scout out their new hires. So what are we gonna do about it?! We're all so weirded out about ruining our chances of becoming president in 2036 that it has become increasingly necessary to systematically remove those choice party shots of us doing keg stands or holding the two-foot bong. Or anything that requires a severe amount of Photoshop to get rid of the unsightly parts of life. It's a hit!
