Letter to the editor

Dear Editor

I've been a student at American University for three years now and have put up with a lot but for the first time at this school I've been so outraged as to write a letter to the Eagle with this question, what happened to the Eagles Nest? I go down there to pick up some Tide to do laundry only to find that my trusty deterrgent has been replaced with some new no name environmentally friendly deterrgent I haven't heard of. Secondly Pop Tarts and regular cereals like Cheerios are no longer being sold instead they've got some organic crap that nobodies going to buy. What the hell is going on? Did a bunch of students whose lives are pitiful make a political issue out of what we buy at the Eagles Nest? Are people at our school really that sad? Does everything I buy have to be "fair trade"? And are the people in charge of the Eagle's Nest really so cowardly that they would just give into what these fools say? I'd like to think not but I've been proven wrong on many things. And by th e way don't respond to this letter saying something like "oh its healthier" because I'm going to make it clear I don't care, if I eat unhealthy its my choice and I don't try to push my nutritional habits on anyone else so what gives you the right to do it. Bottom line keep your politics out of my laundry detergent.

Sincerely, Todd Matthy Class of '06 College of Arts and Sciences
