No luck for Eagle men either

The AU men's basketball team headed to Patriot League-leading Bucknell (19-3, 10-0 PL) Wednesday searching for its first win there since 2002. But Bucknell, poised for a second-straight PL regular-season title, cruised to a 74-57 win over the Eagles (7-15, 3-6).

AU got solid play from freshman point guard Derrick Mercer, who led the Eagles with 13 points.

Freshman guard Garrison Carr dropped one of his three 3-pointers midway through the first half to give AU its last lead at 17-16.

But the Bison ended the first half on a 14-1 run to take a 14-point lead into the locker room.

The Eagles struggled out of the intermission, encountering a nearly seven-minute scoring drought on the way to their second straight loss. They're now fifth in the PL.

The Bison became the second team in PL history to start league play 10-0.
