Candidates for the spring Student Government elections have officially announced their intention to run for office and have started campaigning across campus.
Three candidates accepted nominations to run for SG President, Undergraduate Senator Rob Boisseau, a junior in the School of Public Affairs, President of the College Democrats Ashley Mushnick, a junior in the School of Public Affairs, as well as SG Secretary Joe Vidulich, a sophomore in the School of Public Affairs.
Although the Presidential candidates have varying ideas to their platforms, they all want to work towards a student voice on the Board of Trustees, expanded options for Eagle Bucks and meal plans and increased school spirit.
The vice presidential race is between Undergraduate Senators Pat McGill, a sophomore in SPA and Katie Myers, also a sophomore in SPA.
Kogod School of Business Junior Rob Donigian, is running unopposed for comptroller.
While the Secretary race is between Undergraduate Senator Joe Colarusso, a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and SPA, David Gates, a freshman in the School of Communication and Chief of Staff, Carrie Johnson, a freshman in the SPA and CAS.
Both Gates and Johnson received credit waivers from the Undergraduate Senate in order to enter into the race.
Also on the ballot, is a Clean Energy Referendum sponsored by EcoSense, which calls for AU to commit to increasing renewable energy sources, such as wind, through either raising tuition or student fees.
