Garrett's Vintage Shopping Tips

Ask for what it is you have in mind. Vintage stores can often be overwhelming, and the sales attendants may be able to find something for you more easily than you would be able to do on your own.

Give yourself time. When you finally find that perfect green paisley skirt you've always wanted, it will be well worth the five hours you spent hunting for it.

Try things on. Things will always look differently on a hanger than they do on your body. Something that may seem completely outrageous while hanging up on a rack may look stunning once you're actually wearing it.

Choose timeless pieces. Keep in mind that many vintage pieces are very versatile - a '50s beaded cardigan can go with jeans or a dress, and a vintage brooch can dress up almost any outfit.

Shop during the week. It's less crowded - provided you go before the 5 p.m. after-work rush.

Look for something one or two sizes up. Annie Creamcheese has an in-house seamstress who can adjust the size of your purchase, and it's easier to make things smaller than to enlarge.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
