"In the Continuum" Thursday, Sept. 21, 4:30 p.m. Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company 641 D St. N.W.
Metro TeenAIDS, a D.C. non-profit that supports young people in the fight against HIV and AIDS, is offering Eagle readers 10 free tickets to next week's performance of "In the Continuum" at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
This two-woman off-Broadway hit, written and performed by Danai Gurira and Nikkole Salter, examines the two seemingly different but incredibly parallel experiences of two black women living with AIDS - one in Africa and another in Los Angeles. Because black women currently represent the highest rate of new HIV infections in both the United States and Africa, according to the Web site BlackWomensHealth.com, the show is especially pertinent for D.C., where one in four residents is HIV positive.
You must be 21 years of age or younger to attend the show. Tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
