Swimming competes at Bucknell Sprint Invite

The AU swimming and diving teams competed at the Bucknell Sprint Invite over the weekend, picking up a victory in the 200 meter Free style relay as well as four top-four finishes overall in the meet.

In an ultra-close 200-meter freestyle relay race, the foursome of Chris Leggett, Matt Bank, Matt Pelletier and Joe Coronato were able to claim victory with a time of 1:27.49, a margin of only .01 seconds over second place Bucknell.

Leggett, Bank and Pelletier also teamed up with Mike DiDonato to place second in the 200 meter medley relay with a time of 1:40.18.

On the women's side, the 400 freestyle relay of Laura Uttley, Kaitlin Moughty, Erin Devlin and Meghan Thiel finished with a time of 4:09.41, which was good enough for second in the race.

Uttley, Devlin and Thiel later combined with Michelle Risinger to take third in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:55.02.

The Eagles have a two-week break before returning to action at the three-day George Mason Invitational starting on Friday, Nov. 17.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
