According to AU's Robert Tobias, director of the Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation and the Partnership for Public Service, the best places to work in the federal government are the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, according to American Weekly.
Tobias conducted a survey of more than 221,000 workers, who ranked 280 federal agencies in categories including leadership, pay and benefits and work-life balance, American Weekly reported.
The results of the survey were announced last Thursday during a luncheon at a downtown hotel with over 200 people in attendance, according to American Weekly.
"The whole idea of employee engagement is to make the workplace more productive," Tobias told American Weekly. "We are pleased to offer this benchmark that will provide agencies the information they need to attract the best and brightest career seekers in the public service."
In addition to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, The Government Accountability Office, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Justice make up the top five best places to work, American Weekly reported.
