Jocelyn Hill was promoted to the position of director of recreational sports and fitness, according to a general announcement made by Today@AU.

Hill received her master's degree from American University and has been employed by the university for eight years, according to the announcement.

Prior to coming to AU, Hill was the assistant director of campus recreation, fitness and wellness programs at Middle Tennessee State University, according to Today@AU.

One of Hill's greatest accomplishments while working at Middle Tennessee State University was helping to open a $12 million recreation facility for MTSU students, according to the announcement.

Hill is commissioner of the university's faculty-staff basketball league and is an accomplished professional in the area of health and fitness, according to Today@AU.

Hill is enthusiastic about obtaining the new position and has many goals for the future, she said.

"I am very excited, and [since] I am an alum, I am doubly proud of being part of the university," she said. "I hope to expand our facilities. It is something I want to work on for the students."
