Senate approves Douglas as new secretary

The Undergraduate Senate confirmed Caitlin Douglas as the Student Government secretary by a roll call vote of 13-2 with eight abstentions.

"Students need to care more about what the Student Government does," Douglas said. "I really want to get more student input."

The senate elected committee chairs at its meeting Sunday. While the following four senators will each chair one committee, the specific committees have not yet been assigned: Brian Kalish, class of 2008 senator; Georgette Spanjich, class of 2010 senator; Julie Mills, class of 2010 senator; and Amanda Hurley, class of 2008 senator. Senators will be assigned to committees at their next meeting.

The senate will not meet next week due to fall break. The next meeting will be held Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Kogod room 118.
