Three taxi cab drivers in Georgia are facing charges of delivering beer without a license, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.
Police officials told the Journal-Constitution they are currently investigating taxi drivers who "allegedly delivered beer instead of passengers."
Police said the cabbies would purchase beer from a liquor store for $20 and then charge their patrons double that amount upon delivery.
DeKalb County officers conducted a sting operation last week in which they placed beer orders to a local taxi dispatch and arrested the drivers who delivered them. The drivers were released on bond, the Journal-Constitution reported.
To date, officials had only charged one taxi company but are investigating whether others might have also been involved.
