Thursday, Jan. 31

The McDowell Hall front desk reported that a person fainted inside the building. The D.C. Fire Department checked on the individual, who refused a medical transport.

The Letts Hall front desk reported a female student was stuck in an elevator car on the north side of the building's fifth floor. DCFD responded and released the student from the elevator. There were no injuries. Facilities Management repaired the elevator.

Friday, Feb. 1

A Letts resident reported her roommate was feeling ill. DCFD transported the student to Sibley Hospital.

An AU shuttle driver reported that a vehicle struck an AU shuttle while entering Ward Circle. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping. Public Safety and Metropolitan Police Department officers responded. No injuries were reported.

A student reported their digital camera stolen from inside Letts in November.

Saturday, Feb. 2

A resident assistant in Anderson Hall reported an intoxicated male with a head injury was in the fourth floor men's restroom. The individual reportedly fell from the top bunk of his bed. DCFD transported the student to Georgetown Hospital.

A taxi driver reported that a student attempted to pay the taxi fare with an AU identification card. When the driver informed the student that he could not accept the card as a payment method, the student exited into Anderson. The university has identified the individual and is filing charges through Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services.

An instructor in the Academic Support Center reported a student had fainted and fallen in class, hitting her chin on the floor. She regained consciousness, and DCFD transported her to Sibley.

A staff member in Mary Graydon Center reported graffiti on the exit door in the second floor stairwell. Public Safety photographed the graffiti and determined it was written in black marker. Aramark workers removed the graffiti.

Sunday, Feb. 3

Public Safety officers responded to a fire alarm in Leonard Hall. Residents from the hall evacuated. Officers found a bulletin board on fire on the fourth floor in front of the elevators. They put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. Anyone who has information on this incident should contact Public Safety.

Monday, Feb. 4

Public Safety officers and members of Facilities Management responded to a fire alarm in Mary Graydon Center. Occupants evacuated the building. Officers determined a smoke detector in the building's front lobby set off the fire alarm but found no evidence of smoke or fire. They reset the fire alarm and cleared the building for re-entry.
