Seven top 5 finishes anchor swimmers at Navy Invitational

Team takes final plunge before PL champs

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams took to the water as seven top five finishes were recorded at the non-team scoring Navy Invitational meet on Saturday.

The women's team raked in six of the seven top five finishes. Freshmen Eleanor Clay and Morgan Haycock lent a helping hand to their team. Clay placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, both with scores strong enough to take top-five finishes. Classmate Haycock was right alongside Clay, finishing the 100-yard backstroke a hair in front of her for fourth place.

The men's team had one top five finish from senior swimmer Joe Coronato. Coronato took fifth place in the 100-yard free. Mentionable finishes also came from Brian Galm and Eric Sveum, who also competed in the 100-yard free alongside Coronato.

Both teams will have time to perfect their strokes in the coming weeks as neither side will compete until Feb. 21 at the Patriot League Championships.
