Tuesday, April 8

A student reported she was stuck in an elevator in Letts Hall. Public Safety officers, Facilities Management and D.C. Fire Department responded. DCFD freed the student from the elevator. Facilities Management reset the elevator and placed it out of service for repairs.

Wednesday, April 9

A staff member reported that a vehicle in the Nebraska Parking Lot had a fraudulent parking permit. Public Safety officers booted the vehicle. The vehicle's owner gave the fake permit to Public Safety and they removed the boot. Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services will file charges in connection with the incident.

A student in the Washington Semester program reported that she lost her passport at an unknown off-campus location.

Staff in Bender Library reported receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown individual at an off-campus location.

Thursday, April 10

Two staff members reported an unknown individual stole their Blackberries from the Sports Center. One of the staff members owned one of the Blackberries, while the university owned the other one. The staff members left the Blackberries on a table unattended. When they returned, the Blackberries were gone. There were no witnesses to the incident.

The resident assistant on duty in Anderson Hall reported a fight. A non-affiliate, who had a severe cut above his left eye, reported that an unknown person hit him and identified a possible suspect. Public Safety barred the non-affiliate from campus for underage drinking.

Friday, April 11

An Eagle's Nest employee suspected an individual had attempted to steal Hot Pockets. When the employee confronted the individual, the suspect dropped the open boxes of Hot Pockets and fled the store. Officers responded, found the suspect and returned to the store. The suspect claimed not to have a wallet or identification and denied any wrongdoing. JAMS will look into the incident.

A student reported being stuck in an elevator on the first floor of Letts. DCFD responded and removed the student. An RA responded and notified a resident director and 2FIX about the incident.

An AU student reported someone stole his AU identification and $299 from an unsecured locker in Jacobs Fitness Center. The Metropolitan Police Department responded.

A student reported that a female student injured her leg in Greenberg Theater. The injured student slipped, hit a set piece while performing on stage and sustained a deep cut on her left leg. DCFD transported the injured student to Sibley Hospital.

Saturday, April 12

A resident assistant reported two individuals were passed out on the hallway floor in Federal Hall. When officers arrived, one student responded immediately, but the second student was unresponsive. Both students were intoxicated and, according to a witness, had destroyed a bulletin board by writing remarks of a sexual nature and ripping down pictures. DCFD transported the non-responsive student to Sibley Hospital. JAMS will look into the incident.

Sunday, April 13

A front desk receptionist in Congressional Hall reported a heavily intoxicated female in the women's restroom. When an officer arrived, the female was conscious, semi-coherent and vomiting excessively. DCFD transported the student to Sibley.

An RA in Letts reported a female student was intoxicated. When an officer arrived, the student was conscious, coherent and not showing physical signs of severe intoxication. Friends of the student said they were with her earlier in the evening when she vomited from alcohol intoxication. The student indicated that she had consumed alcohol at an off-campus party. The student refused medical transport.

A staff member in Bender Library reported bias-related graffiti - a racial slur and the words "White Power" - in the second floor men's bathroom. The graffiti was written in pencil on a toilet roll dispenser in a bathroom stall. Public Safety personnel removed the graffiti.

A staff member in the Sports Center reported an uncooperative and suspicious person had attempted to look at children as they showered. Officers responded and took the suspect into custody. Public Safety contacted the suspect's mother, who indicated the suspect is autistic and suffers from low blood sugar. MPD and DCFD determined the suspect's vital signs and blood sugar level were normal and the suspect refused medical transport. They allowed the suspect to leave with his mother and barred him from campus.

Monday, April 14

A student reported someone stole a pair of headphones from his unsecured dorm room in Anderson between Thursday and Saturday. The student said he and his roommate leave their room unsecured when they are in the general area. Public Safety advised him that this is not a safe practice.

A student reported someone stole her electronic dictionary from the desk she used on the lower level of Bender Library. She left the property unattended for approximately ten minutes.
