The Boredoms 7:30 p.m. WHERE: 9:30 club 815 V St. N.W. METRO: U Street/Cardozo/African American Civil War Memorial (yellow and green lines) INFO: This avant garde Japanese rock band will electrify Thursday night with unexpected music. COST: $20

Friday, April 4 Jam Session: America's Jazz Ambassadors Embrace the World 2-5 p.m. WHERE: Meridian International Center 1624 Crescent Place N.W. METRO: Dupont Circle (red line) INFO: This photography exhibit showcases the diplomatic trips of jazz greats Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, who spread their music on behalf of the State Department. COST: Free

"The Exonerated" 8 p.m. WHERE: Katzen Studio Theatre METRO: Tenleytown-AU (red line) INFO: Also performing Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., the AU Players tackle the stories of six death row inmates whose convictions were reversed. The Players, coupled with several organizations, put the performance together. COST: $5

Saturday, April 5 National Cherry Blossom Festival Fireworks Show 8:30 p.m. WHERE: Southwest Waterfront Water Street S.W. METRO: Waterfront/SEU (green line) INFO: A dizzying display of pyrotechnics will light up the District's waterfront as part of the cherry blossom festivities. COST: Free

"The History Boys" 8 p.m. WHERE: The Studio Theatre- Metheny Theatre 14th and P streets N.W. METRO: Dupont Circle (red line) INFO: A British boys' school comes alive in Alan Bennet's Tony Award winning play following eight students and two teachers as they prepare for an important standardized exam. COST: $53-$57

Sunday, April 6 "I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay" 2 p.m. WHERE: Freer Gallery of Art Jefferson Drive and 12th St. N.W. METRO: Smithsonian (orange and blue lines) INFO: Part of the two-month long Korean Film Festival that kicked off on Friday, this lighthearted work traces a relationship in a mental hospital. The boy thinks he's disappearing and the girl thinks she's a robot, but romance still ensues. COST: Free

"Stunning" 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. WHERE: Woolly Mammoth Theatre 641 D St. N.W. METRO: Gallery Place/Chinatown (red, yellow and green lines) INFO: This is the last weekend to catch the premier of playwright David Adjmi's drama that tells the story of Lily, sixteen and married in Brooklyn. COST: $24-$57

Monday, April 7 Dirty Projectors 9 p.m. WHERE: Black Cat- Backstage 1811 14th St. N.W. METRO: U Street/Cardozo/African American Civil War Memorial (yellow and green lines) INFO: Nothing cures a case of the Mondays quite like this eclectic indie rock band with powerful vocals. COST: $10

Saul Williams 7:30 p.m. WHERE: 9:30 club 815 V. St. N.W. METRO: U Street/Cardozo/African American Civil War Memorial (yellow and green lines) INFO: A four-piece back-up band will support the charged performance of Williams' rap and poetry. COST: $15

Tuesday, April 8 "An Alphabet Garden of Orchids" 10 a.m.-5 p.m. WHERE: U.S. Botanic Garden 100 Maryland Ave. S.W. METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: Celebrate spring with a trip to the annual orchid exhibit at this oasis on the Mall. COST: Free

"Into the Light" Noon-5 p.m. WHERE: Honfleur Gallery 1241 Good Hope Road S.E. METRO: Anacostia (green line) INFO: This multimedia exhibit explores the different expressions of light. COST: Free
