Swimming team earns NCAA Public Recognition Award

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams were awarded an NCAA Public Recognition honor this week, the second-straight year that the team has received this award.

The NCAA Public Recognition Award honors teams that consistently post high Academic Progress Rates, which monitor the academic progress of each individual student-athlete.

AU was one of only 15 swimming and diving squads across the country to receive the award.

Head Coach Mark Davin told aueagles.com that he is proud of the team for receiving the awards.

"Academic excellence is something that we talk about with our kids often and this team has really gotten on board with us," he said. "They have been and continue to be a great representative of academic and athletic excellence for the university and athletics department."
