International brief

Three found guilty in terrorist plot

A London jury found three men guilty Monday of participating in a plot to detonate bombs on trans-Atlantic airlines headed for the U.S. and Canada in 2006, CNN reported.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on four other men charged in connection to the plot and found one not guilty on all counts.

The plan involved the use of liquid explosives concealed in plastic bottles, according to CNN.

The British Crown Prosecution service told CNN there was a definite connection to al-Qaida and that the attacks could have been successful.

The men will be sentenced at a later date.
