China: other milk products tainted

The scope of China's tainted milk scandal proved to be much larger than officials first anticipated, according to The Washington Times.

Three of the nation's largest milk producers tested positive for the industrial chemical melamine which lead to the death of four infants, reported the Times.

It remains unknown how the chemical ended up in milk products. Twenty-two companies may be involved in scandal.

Singapore suspended the importation and sale of Chinese milk products Friday, according to the Times.

Government officials arrested 12 individuals and fired a senior official suspected of involvement in the scandal, according to the New York Times.
