President Bush dedicated a memorial Thursday to the 184 individuals killed in the attack on the Pentagon on the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
As of Thursday, 2,557 days have passed without an attack on American soil, Bush said at the ceremony.
The victims' families worked with a representative for the Pentagon Memorial project to help select the final design and met regularly to represent their interests in the project, according to the Pentagon Memorial Project's Web site. The site includes 184 "memorial units" signifying the lives of the victims lost at the Pentagon and on American Airlines Flight 77, according to the Web site.
