Former WAMU executive to sue for defamation

An appellate court granted former WAMU Executive Director Susan Clampitt permission to sue AU for defamation.

Clampitt, whom former AU President Ben Ladner fired in 2003, is seeking damages for breach of contract, interference with contract and defamation, among other claims, according to The Washington Post.

An appellate panel Thursday overruled the D.C. Superior Court, allowing Clampitt to pursue the suit, The Post reported.

Ladner fired Clampitt after donors and volunteers raised questions about her financial decision and managerial style, The Post reported.
