HODGE'S GOAL LIFTS WOMEN'S SOCCER OVER TOWSON, 1-0

The AU women's soccer team improved its record to 3-2-1 after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Towson University Sunday afternoon.

Senior forward Krystn Hodge scored the game's lone goal in the first eight minutes of the game.

A staunch defense kept the Tigers' attacks at bay. Eagle senior goalie, Kelsey Wiggins made three saves, including a sliding tackle just feet from the net that could have changed the outcome of the game.

AU's offense pressured Towson's defense, outshooting the Tigers 18-10, but the Eagles could not find the back of the net for the rest of the game.

Towson goalie, Jocelyn Papciak saved six shots, but in the end, the Eagles only needed one.

The Eagles travel to Richmond on Tuesday to face the Richmond Spiders at 7 p.m.
