Junior forward Kelsey Brasher scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season to help the Eagles fight to a 1-1 tie on the road with the University of Maryland Terrapins on Friday.
AU scored the first goal of the game as Brasher put the ball into the back of the net in the second minute of play, taking a pass from junior defender Erin Stebbins to put the Eagles up 1-0.
AU held the lead throughout the first half of play but Maryland tied the game up only nine minutes into the second half when senior forward Kalia Sciascia buried a cross to tie the game up at one.
While the Eagles were out-shoot 19-5 during the course of the whole game, senior goalkeeper Kelsey Wiggins kept the team in the game with seven saves, including three in the overtime period.
With the tie, AU improves to 2-2-1 on the season. The team has a week off before returning home to Reeves Field to take on Towson University on Sept. 14. The game will begin at noon.
