Cross country brief

Cross country runs well at Leopard Invitational

The AU men's and women's cross country teams fared well in their final tune-up before the Patriot League Championships, with the men taking home the title and the women coming in second place.

Senior Carlos Jamieson finished second overall in the race with a time of 25:36.00. He was joined in the top 10 by sophomore teammate Jeff Brannigan, who completed the course in 26:01.30.

Freshman Octavia Rinehardt led the women and took second place overall in the meet. She finished the course with a time of 21:24.60, good enough to be named PL Rookie of the Week. Junior Greta Wicklund also finished in the top 10, taking sixth place with a time of 22:00.90.

The two teams will next compete in the PL Championships Nov. 1 in Bethlehem, Pa. The men will look to take home their seventh-consecutive PL title.
