The D.C. Council passed legislation Tuesday that will ban the sale of individual containers of beer, malt liquor or ale in specific parts of the District.
The bill is intended to combat public intoxication, disturbances and litter, according to NBC 4.
The bill targets areas in Ward 4 including the Adams Morgan and Shaw neighborhoods, according to The Washington Examiner. Capitol Hill will also be affected.
Ward 1 Council Member Jim Graham told NBC 4 he believes the legislation will bring quiet to the central city neighborhoods.
